WTF

Has anyone seen that meme online that says "I whisper WTF to myself at least 20 times a day"?  I read that and thought, 20? No, more like 50.  On any given day I'm usually running around in stretch pants that are stretched far too thin, you know where you can see my skin (or butt-crack) through them.  I have not brushed my hair, although usually I am lucky enough to brush my teeth (go me).  I am chasing my toddler, who at the moment, ONLY wears "princess dresses", which is totally fine- but comical because she is usually dressed impeccably while I run around like Charlize Theron in the movie "Monster".  If you don't understand that reference then you need to google it.

Like I said in my intro, I'm really into fashion. HOWEVER, (spoiler alert) on days where I'm not working and/or going somewhere that involves adult interaction - I am not dressed up.  I don't have makeup on and I probably didn't get a shower in.  It can make you feel like you're really just sucking at life when your toddler(s) finally go down for a nap and you take a little scroll through your instagram feed.  You're like oh, look at this mom of 4- she's driving around in her Range Rover with a fresh bouquet of peonies on her passenger seat while her kids casually sip organic green juices and wear coordinating outfits that match her new Gucci bag.  What?
This is a WTF moment. I'm not going to say I don't like these photos because they're appealing, but it's not reality.  Deep down we know that, but sometimes these photos can make you feel like you're just not doing enough.  You are.  To the moms out there that do their best: that's enough.  Go you.

Ive decided now that I'm in my 30's I need to start a better collection of "athleisure" clothing because 75% of the time that's what I'm wearing- (still trying to avoid the Charlize/Monster look).  I've included some of my favorite go to mom friendly outfits here.
